The France Visa

These last few months have been crazy...that's all I can say to explain it. Getting the working holiday visa was stressful to say the least and I will admit that it was not the funnest experience of the trip. However, after all the stress of assembling paperwork we received it, and it was so satisfying. Tips I can give for acquiring a visa successfully are as follows:
1) Start a few months in advance
2) Do not expect to get paperwork faxed or sent to you in the time they give you
3) Do not over analyse the paperwork!
4) Make your consulate appointment as far in advance as you can (this can be the deciding factor)

Remembering these few rules you really shouldn't have too much of a problem as long as you give yourself time!! I would have to say the hardest part of the entire process was trying to get the Provincial Medical Services to send us our sheets (they seemed to forget to push send several times)

As for the Personal Liability insurance, it seems that it is not available in Canada. After much searching, we found that when you open a bank account in France it comes with your monthly fees!

Another question we have had and couldn't answer was what the exact working restrictions are in France? Can you work for a year straight? Can you only work 3 months with one employer? The answer is you can work for the entire year with one employer as long as you get a work authorization which is provided from your employer, your visa acts like a work permit.

Lastly, when filling out the application form for the visa don't be confused with all the sections. Remember that the form is a generic form and is used for all different visas. So for example, when it asks you your employers name just write N/A or leave it blank, same with the section that asks if you have family you are staying with. Fill in blanks that are applicable and do not over think it.

I hope this information helps and if you have any questions please ask in the comment box because I would love to help anyone who has any questions.
